One of the samller palm trees, grows to only 12 ft, can also survive in a large planter. Once an tree on the verge of extinction, it has now been saved with its popularity in smaller gardens. Visually unusual because of its bloated base, hence its name, tapering to a thinner top which has long feathered leaves. The trunk is the most eyecatching part of this tree, with its color and ridges it makes it a very pleasing tree in the garden. Can tolerate sun or some shade, water well until established.
