The tree itself is a pretty tree which produces small pink flowers. The cashew nut is only part of the fruit that the tree produces. The other part is a cashew apple, though more pear like, the kidney shaped nut appears at the bottom of the fruit, which can be eaten. The tree loves the sun and needs to be well watered.
